Notes

All except the washing and pattern amended for the final version to be made in due course.
Main tweaks - Use the lotus rather than trefoil for the finger borders, at this gauge it appears too big.
- Outline the finger borders with a single black line after realigning the pattern to accommodate an extra round.
- Realign the thumb pattern ever so slightly
- Incorporate the cuff roll into the design as cannot control and do not want to use rib. A red rolled edge to match the finger tips is probably the best.

For now this project being put aside to work the final re-craft of Warren Hastings gloves.

Note 5 Thumb quirk has worked admirably

Note 4 With fingers all done only a thumb left. The opening is intentionally large and the lower gusset looks quite short. Shaping behind the thumb and on the upper hand though should produce a snug fitting thumb which, like a fabric glove, fits the profile of the hand.

Note 3 Not a deliberate mistake on the long finger border. The perils of knitting and chatting. The Warren Hastings have a few idiosyncratic in their surface design although all the finger borders match.

Note 2 Probably have the finger length as good as can get bearing in mind that the three longer fingers need to be the same length as they have a border trim which should line up for a neat finish.
Surprised at how much I like the blue and gold for the trefoil band.

Note 1 Much prefer the cuff borders this way round and the tweak in the trefoil pattern has improved it. Possibly also better executed as the red flowers on version 1 look just a little pulled. The lighter grey is much more attractive. The thumb gusset is half a pattern shorter and the trefoil band seems to sit in the right place now. I just hope the gusset is not too short. Will not be certain until the fingers are placed. There is some scope for lengthening the gusset without detrimental effect on the appearance of the fingers. Just trial and error.

Shortened version of Bengal prototype 1 with a realignment of the pattern.

Border patterns swapped. The trefoil at the upper edge of the cuff is more like Hasting’s glove.
Eliminated the darker blue grey from the project but the lighter one will work well as a silver accent. One skein is insufficient for two gloves and after completing this cuff there is no more gold yellow.
