Notes

Cuff pattern finalised - cast on with 1mm
Muhu b/w cast on
Blue, Gold Blue vit
Change to 1.2mm
Trefoil, Lotus, Trefoil with slight revisions to stems and no spots in the lotus.
Keep the black outlined strips simple - no purls as they obliterate the outline.
Work one row of background colour either side of the floral band and work one white row either side of the black outlining rows.
Continue then onto the glove on 1.2mm needles also.

Using the rest of a recent eBay purchase to test out the revised cuff pattern. These colours, although OK, are not quite what I was looking for so not worth working into a glove. However, they will probably make a pair of wrist warmers. It is also an opportunity to try out the Kreinik yarns for a modest braid or two.

I like the look of these very much and will probably finish the upper edge with a ruff similar to this

Lesson one - don’t overdo the bling. A cast on OR a vit with the braid - not both. Less is more.
Lesson two - go back to my usual weaving of yarns for the colour work to keep floats slack. Throw the working yarn back and catch.

First swatch - lotus look small against trefoil so add a row. Alter the trefoil centre slightly to simplify and ease working and make a two colour row. The #8 bling is too thick so try #4
Second swatch - looking better with the slightly increased lotus but really do not like the two dots on the petals so omit. #4 bling better.
Still thinking about lower edge. Tried bling cast on - OK but think I might revert to the bling between two blue vits - just need to establish if can work with ease #4 with ease on 1mm. Work a b/w plait so that the edge ties in with the hand of the eventual glove. Add a single round of plain background colour to the pattern to minimise the effect of any weaving on the small brick patterned band. Keep the brick band simple - no purls.
