26g of the main colour (indigo heather) and lesser amounts of all the rest.
Trying to achieve a stylised lotus pattern that will work over a small repeat. Just scaling down the original from the gloves did not work with the scroll as well.
Trying a lotus inside a hexagon (of sorts). In keeping with Persian/Islamic design which underpins the original gloves. Look to Iznik tiles for colour inspiration.
Most rows incorporate three colours so will stick with it even though the colours not quite working. The wrist band background is silver but it has taken on a pinkish hue from the indigo heather. Orange tips added to the lotus to try and tie it all together.
On a more positive note do like the redesigned lotus and in this colour combo has potential for a peacock inspired design. Also 3 yarns gives a really firm fabric and could see this lotus motif better placed in a band or edge.
Working three colours in most rows requires quite a bit of concentration and having to try really hard to control tension - especially when catching the floats. Probably taking twice as long as regular colour work. Will try to simplify should I make another pair!
One done but may have to rethink the upper hand rolled edge - dangerously near to exposing some of the wrong side colour work.
A couple of increase in the wrist band would benefit from moving away from the thumb and more evenly spaced around the wrist.
Finished length is quite long and could comfortably be shortened by a lotus pattern - if so the thumb shaping would possibly extend into the cuff - thinking!
