I used a variegated rayon chenille yarn. This project made me hate chenille and swear off of small needles (I think I was using a 4?). It took forever. I kept having to pull out the weird loops chenille makes when it catches on itself. Worst of all, it was slippery and had no elasticity and so did not function as a hat!! It merely slid around on Tim’s head. sigh
