3/1/12 I’ve decided that instead of buying sizing 8 needles I’ll remove some stitches out of the pattern to make it smaller and keep the size 9 needles plus that’s what the yarn suggests size 9. I’m doing 76co then 3k,1p,3k,3p,6k,3p then I’ll adjust in the decrease…we’ll see.

I finished the #247 Cabled Button Wrap for my grandmother and wanted to give her a matching hat. This pattern was simple enough and seemed to match the wrap quite perfectly. So I started this hat on the redeye SFO-JFK and all I had were size 9 needles so that’s what I used. Have to stay awake no matter what :). It’s too big for my grandmother but since I have a gigantic head it fits me just fine. Will have to get the appropriate size needles and do another one. Very simple pattern and looking forward to starting another one. I also shortened the hat by removing five rows out of the decrease. Worked out great.
