18 december 10 -- I’m doing this project for a gift, and working on it an hour here and a few minutes there, usually in the mornings before my 18-year-old daughter gets up for the day.

I am using an F hook and although it looks a little small now, I think that it will block nicely.

This is my first attempt at cables. I found the instructions for that part very easy to follow.

20 december 10 -- It would be nice if my normally-late sleeper didn’t rise at the crack of dawn today. I want her hood to be ready for presentation by Winter Solstice evening. So, um, that’s less than 24 hours. All that is left to do is one placket and blocking. I’m going to let her select the buttons.

The sizing is perfect.

Edited to add: I spent the last 15 minutes sitting on my closet floor and finishing the last placket. The hood is done. I’m just trying to figure out how to sneak my blocking supplies past my daughter and into the bedroom.

21 december 2010 -- It blocked BEAUTIFULLY. I can’t wait to give it to my daughter this evening. Photos in a few days.
