This is my first time using this basic, plain styled Sirdar hoodie pattern and adding my own girly touches.

Cast on with contrast colour, then worked ribbing with main colour, carrying the contrast.

The stripes are done using slipped stitches:

Row 1: With contrast colour (K2, sl 1 purlwise), repeat to end of round.
Row 2: With contrast, slip the slipped stitches and purl the purls.
Row 3: With main colour, knit.
Row 4: With main colour, purl.

The colourway is an earlier one. It’s not a “Speckle” or a “Spots” or a “Tickle”, all of which have been busy speckly, spotty colours in Sirdar’s range over the years. “Cookie” was a colour in itself, more subtle than these others, and produced by Sirdar back when they were doing the “Mousse” range of Snugglies - Strawberry Mouuse, Blueberry Mousse….

No mods to the pattern - straightforward.
I knitted the 1-2y wanting a 12m size, which is what it is. Quite roomy.

The yarn is beautifully smooth and soft, and I love the delicate splotches of colour.
