Cast on 34 sts with 3.25 needles and Snowflake yarn; worked 4 rows in garter stitch, changed to 3.5 needles and plain yarn and knit 16 rows. Didn’t cut yarn.

Used new length of yarn to knit instep - 16 rows.

Using original yarn, k12, pick up 8sts along side instep, knit 10 centre stitches, pick up 8sts along other side instep, knit 12.

Sk2p = Sl 1, K2tog, PSSO

Somehow I found myself knitting these in the round with dpn’s. It proved fiddly but worked out. I’d prefer to knit them with straights though, and think it will be faster, so will be sure to do that next time.

I joined the sole with kitchener stitch. Cast on 15 stitches and knit 7 rows, cast off, to make a button tab as did mubba0mine in her beautiful project “Baby Steps” which I modelled mine on. Thank you mubba0mine!

My tension was 20 stitches so these booties are larger than 3 months; they look more like 9 months size.

I used a pattern that I obtained free some years back; going through my pattern folders I also found another free pattern that looks very similar but has only the smaller size… “Oh! Baby Baby Booties”… a similar name with only the punctuation different. These two patterns seem to be extremely similar to the pattern “First Steps”, which I also have.
