I was lucky…. the colour changes appeared at exactly the right places, at least until 2/3 through the skirt when I had to do a little cutting and joining. Up till then no colour change had happened on the garter ridge row so by then I wanted to keep it that way.

As Chloe is tall for her age, I did one more pattern repeat for a little extra length.

Once I reached the chest section the orange/red part of the yarn kicked in :-) so I continued it up one side and used another ball for the other side and strap, and some extra yarn for the main part of the chest. It meant more ends to weave in but I guess I’d become a bit obsessive about colour placement by then.

I worked the buttonholes both on the same row, rather than one on one row and one on the next… couldn’t see the reasoning behind that.

This size 2 (with a little extra length) took 3 balls of Magicline. There was only a tiny amount, a couple of metres, left.
