Notes

Seamless top, knitted bottom up.

The lace panel and the hem lace is the same as in my Blue rain top (see chart there).
22 pattern repeats for the hem.

I finished it up with some improvised crochet rows around the collar/neck line.

Very simple thing but quite wearable garment.
It made me happy (and lucky!) during my very hot Moscow weeks (august 2011).

Топик по-прежнему отлично мне служит.
Суровую итальянскую жару помог мне перенести легко и приятно. Отличные нитки!

5 years long (since July 2011) this top goes with me anywhere, takes easily every kind of summer and still looks & is just like new! So, - vivat native linen!

19-09-2015 - Kind of instruction

Since some people are still asking for instructions, I’ll write what I did. It is actually very simple to knit: this top is knitted from bottom up in rounds (hence this top is seamless).

So you start at the bottom: CO (e.g.) 252 sts, make a picot edge (google it: “Folded Picot Edge”).
Then knit the lacy hem (10-15 cm long), one can find the lace chart here (http://www.ravelry.com/projects/some/blue-rain).
Then knit the body making some waist decreases (e.g. x 8 times) on left and right sides (front&back). Right after that, while still knitting in rounds, make some increases on both sides for the bust (how many is up to your bust).
When it all reaches the good length split the body for back and front.
Make some decreases on the edges (+/- 5 or so) to fit your underarms.
Start the lace panel (same chart) in the middle of the front part.
When the lace panel is about +/- 10 cm long, - cast off the decollete line. Then finish the 2 front straps.
Knit the back part finishing with 2 shoulder straps as well.
Connected the back and front shoulder straps by the 3 needles method.

That’s it! I hope it’ll help. Happy knitting!
