The stranded part is done. This chart demands a lot of concentration. Now I have to think of the lining: I think I’ll make it in lace (just to use less yarn), but I’m not sure yet.

Sonatina is literally a small sonata, it has no single strict definition; it is rather a title applied by the composer to a piece that is in basic sonata form, but is shorter, lighter in character, or more elementary technically than a typical sonata.*

Topology (from the Greek τόπος, “place”, and λόγος, “study”) is the mathematical study of shapes and spaces. It is a major area of mathematics concerned with the most basic properties of space, such as connectedness, continuity and boundary.

Мощная геометрия этого узора просто заворожила меня. При вязании узор требует повышенной концентрации, но, по-моему, он того стоит!

Нашла я этот узор давно и, что удивительно, не где-нибудь, а на сайте ткачей (ID=61247). Но и там он не сам по себе зародился, а взят из одной книги конца 17-го века (Threading: Weber Kunst und Bild Buch, Marx Ziegler, (1677). Сам узор я слегка модифицировала, чтобы вышло без ботаники, почти чистая музыка геометрии.

Там, у ткачей, кстати, еще много-много интересного для жаждущих приключений импровизаторов жаккарда.
