Hand carded for a progression. Will spin and overlap the rolags to ease the color changes some. Photos don’t show the greens and make everything seem a little neon-y….
Started spinning this last night on the Matchless (yes! and it’s going swimmingly!), and instantly feared I will not make the yardage if I chain-ply this. So, off to order a second bump… I’ll either do a double progression (card the second one the same way, then spin for a 2-ply) or add bits to the beginning and end to supplement yardage.
Nearly through with the plying after spending the day waiting on a plumber (power snaaaaaake). Might be able to finish it up tonight!
Spun, plied, and soaking. Ended up with phenomenal yardage. Can’t wait to see this yarn knit up!!!
Cast on 10/4, using the long-behind garter tab.
10/6, more than halfway through the main body. I am still in the green on the yarn, and am worried that I’ll finish the shawl before I get into the light pink. I keep looking at the other completed projects to compare my progress to what others have finished.
This was supposed to be my Rhinebeck knitting, but I can’t put it down….
10/8, transitioned out of the green and into the yellowy bit. Won’t be long before the orange comes up!
10/9, the transition (the cat ear photo on the left) is super abrupt, even though I felt like in the carding I blended things better. The color’s also off in that photo…
10/23, took it to Rhinebeck and managed a few looooong rows in between laughing my face off and stuffing it with cheese and wine. I’m on row 79/91ish, and well into the beginning of the orange-to-pink transition. No updated photos right now.
10/29, due to the misfortune of being sick AND home for major plumbing issues, I got a LOT done the last 2 days on this. I’m now binding off, slowly, but surely. I’m doing some kind of crochet bind off. I think… Should be ready to block this MAYBE Friday night.
11/1, done! Blocking! I used 665 yds, with a mod to the second to last row: dec by 3 on each side of the petals (7 st to 3 st). Purl row, p3tog on petal points. I think this made the difference between having 10 yds to spare and needing 10 more yds. Phew!
