Notes

Bust = 43” = the larger 41” pattern specs. Reminder to self: this is the THIRD set of numbers in parentheses.

It’s kind of weirdly a bit of a nice break to work mostly back and forth garter stitch with the occasional increase. I haven’t done that in what seems like forever. And by the time I get bored with it, I’ll be up to the lace…

30 March 2014: Up to the eyelet increases. Had 5 too many stitches before, so used 5 less increases. Did the math wrong, because I still have 3 too many stitches. Would have been grateful for more specific guidelines for spacing eyelets.

14 April 2014: 3-4 repeats into the lace, and have discovered I screwed it up 1-2 repeats ago. Frogging back and reminding self to learn how to use lifelines!

07 May 2014: Using stitch markers every 14 stitches helps immensely to catch and correct mistakes with minimal impact on the overall work. Have decided I would like a total of 24” length in the body. I’m at 12” now.

23 May 2014: At 18”, getting closer, but also realizing I will not finish this in time to wear it before summer. Which is already here. So I’m hibernating it for the moment and switching to something more time-sensitive.

19 August 2014: Resuming knitting on this tonight.

25? August 2014: Put it aside AGAIN in favor of Christmas projects.

Christmas 2014: My brother gave me size 7 DPNs! I don’t have to magic-loop the sleeves! Yay! …But still hibernating.

14 January 2015: Okay. I am finishing up the feather-and-fan shawl from 2012 tonight (1 row and bind off to go!), and this is the next WIP up for finishing. Going ahead and marking it out of hibernation. Goal: Get this done before it turns a year old. I can do it!

15 January 2015: …In a few days. I hope. Because making something for my cousin’s preemie is more important. But this is next.

20 January 2015: Right! Back to it! And this time let’s finish!

30 January 2015: After trying on what I’ve got, decided to stop a couple of inches shorter than I’d originally intended. Into the bottom band.

01 February 2015: Body complete, beginning sleeve #1.

05 February 2015: WHY are sleeves so LONG? I have to hibernate this again because I forgot that I need to trytrytry to get some socks made for Husband before his birthday which is in 3 weeks argh.

12 April 2015: First sleeve maybe three-quarters done. Tried it on and discovered that it fits VERY snugly. Might be a size too small. This is very discouraging and I’m not really sure what to do now. Don’t want to rip it all back to start over again with a bigger size; don’t want to give it away; and I’ve decided to accept myself as I am, so while I might possibly lose weight and have it fit I’m not making any clothing choices with that goal in mind. This project just seems pointless right now.

16 April 2015: First sleeve done! And it fits snugly, but I think better than I had thought it would. So it’s all good. Unfinished. But good.

25 May 2015: Second sleeve finally done. Just need to put on the buttons and give it a bath. WHEW. The fit is a bit snug.
