Notes

I made another pair in order to test a new kind of sock knitting needle, the NEKO DPNs.
Actually I only finished one sock with those, for the second one I went straight back to my regular bamboo DPNs. Wasn’t too impressed by the NEKO ones:
a) the plastic feels wobbly
b) the angle is super weird
c) they aren’t quite pointy enough for my taste
d) Contrary to the NEKO makers’ promise, I lost stitches all the time! Having so many stitches on each needle took away the necessary flexibility to pick them back up. That was really annoying.

On the upside:
Airport security had no problem letting me take these aboard.
Traveling with them is way easier. If you need to take your sock knitting anywhere, the angle makes the stitches stay on perfectly.
I’m sure that the NEKO needles are helpful for beginners, if you don’t have movement routine of knitting with five needles yet, I am sure that starting out with these would be easier.

I knit the second sock in opposite coloring to try that out. The pattern calls for variegated yarn, but I actually think these are quite fun even in two solid color yarns. This combination makes me feel very autumnal.
