31 Dec 2012 - I finished another circle this morning and will likely work on this as I chime in the New Year at home, relaxing with the husband, lasagna made from scratch, puppies, and a nice roaring fire.

4 Oct 2011 - I went to an actual rug weaving store and found that you can get rope for a much more cost effective price! Who figures? hahah…so no more marine stores for me - the load bearing weight of that kind of rope makes it too costly, although I am happy I got some because it is visually very interesting. I may get more…why lie to myself? I am now done 3 rounds of this rug - just finished the largest one. I love the pom pom trim strings even though they are harder to weave through the warp. I also find I can’t use the cardboard templates more than once because they get bent/flimsy.

28 Sept 2011 - I finished the first coiled round of this rug and am starting the second one. I think using the fatter rope is going to be challenging but I will figure it out. The tutorial only goes into the basic of how to make this piece, which is a good thing because I need to figure it out on my own and make it my own. :)

Start notes:
I am too excited to begin this project - found it via Pinterest here - http://blog.freepeople.com/2011/05/wednes-diy-68/

The project photo is not mine, it is from the website, but I plan on keeping the same colour theme sort of - bright yellows and pinks and aqua.

I went to Fogh Marine and bought a bunch of beautiful but expensive specialty rope. Hoping to start this week!
