Notes

Dec 12/2012 - As with every project I have ever knit with Tanis yarn, it’s doomed! I have no idea why this is. The yarn is pretty - the pattern is nice…but the lace is lost in this. It didn’t look as variegated in the skein as it is. So, I think I will rip it out and knit the Poppy hat instead, then knit this hat in a grey tone. Yay - 2 hats.

Oct 10, 2012 - This pattern is sensible, but a bit tricky just because it has a lot of cabling. It has actually made me enjoy making bobbles now though. the only bobbles I made before were with giant needles and it felt really clumsy - but they are actually rather satisfying when done with smaller needles. I think I might knit this hat again to perfect it. I think I might have made a few mistakes but I am not noticing too much so I am not ripping out. Life’s too short.

Oct 3, 2012 - I totally fell in love with this yarn when I went on a lovely camping trip at Inverhuron park in September. The blue was so pretty and it was such a cute shop, I couldn’t resist. I have been wanting to knit this hat for ages so will get to ball winding now!
