I love this pattern, but since I’m up to my neck in cowls (and bad jokes, hey-o), I decided to convert this one into a hat.

What I Did

• Cast on 112-stitches in orange.
• K2P2 ribbing on Size 3 needles for 2.5”, then switched to Size 5 while knitting a row.
• Launched into colorwork section. Knit to Row 29, then jumped to Row 58, given that I have limited real estate here.
• After completing the chart, I knit two rows of plain stockinette before beginning decreases.
• Super-brief decrease section: Row 1 (K1, slip two, k1, psso); Row 2 all knit; Row 3 (slip two, k1, psso, k1). Break yarn and pull through remaining stitches.
• Top with a big ol’ pom-pom.

I’m super-happy with how this one turned out. If I were to knit it again, however, I would opt for smaller needles, so I could squeeze in a few more rows of the colorwork pattern; as it stands, those last rows get lost in my (rather aggressive) decrease section.
