…being the fourth pattern I attempted to knit with this troublesome (but ultimately lovely) yarn. Fine, Lindy Chain, fine - we’ll go with a simple stockinette-centric cardigan and leave it at that.**

My gauge was a bit smaller than the pattern’s, so I cast on a larger size (the 38.75” for my 34” chest). For the cuffs, hem and collar, I followed Tittiesse’s lead and used the Fibonacci sequence to space out my garter ridges.

The FO looked a bit ragged and uneven. (See fifth photo for pre-washed/-dried state.) To tidy things up a bit, I hand-washed the cardigan, stuck it in the dryer (low heat) for 20-minutes and laid it flat to finish drying. Doing so tightened/evened up the stitches, and relaxed the fabric into something soft and drapey. Based on some other Ravelers’ experience with Lindy, I had expected some shrinkage - but the pre- and post-washing measurements remained the same.

(** The first three attempts involved ribbing and lace, which didn’t seem a good match for Lindy’s rustic charm.)
