One of my earliest projects was a pair of basic glittens knit for Mom during Xmas 2006. As a knitting kn00b whose efforts had been fairly limited to that point, the end result was…a bit imperfect. Regardless, Mom dutifully wore her glittens - (both right-handed, it bears mention) - for over six years before requesting a replacement pair for Xmas 2013. And this year? I’m going to do her proud.

This construction is quite clever, with the flip-tops/-thumbs being knit directly onto the mitt. Sole concern: Knit as-is, my stubby little fingers press out the flip-top; it’s workable for me (and my similarly-stubbied Mom), but might pose an issue for folks with longer digits.
