Because none of my current projects are train-friendly - a hat! A mindless, improvised little hat!

Cast on 126-stitches using Size 4 needles. Knit in 1x1 ribbing for 3”, switched to stockinette and knit for another 3.5”. Decreased as follows:

Row 1 - Knit eight stitches, k2tog, repeat to end.
Row 2 and all even rows - Knit all stitches.
Row 3 - Knit seven stitches, k2tog, repeat to end.
Row 5 - Knit six stitches, k2tog, repeat to end.
Row 7 and beyond - Et cetera, et cetera.
Decreased until I had fourteen stitches remaining. Broke yarn, threaded it through the remaining stitches, gave it a nice tug and voila - hat!
