My two best friends are giving birth to their respective firstborns this Spring - one in May (a girl) and one in June (a boy). This? Is Blankey #1 for little Clio-to-be.

I absolutely love this blanket - even though those final, seemingly endless rows tested my patience. I knit until I ran out of the Stone colorway - through Row 55, followed by three knit rows with maybe a yard to spare - then switched to some Rose-colored yarn from my stash for the edging.

This is the third baby blanket that I’ve knit in Cotton-Ease, which is the perfect yarn for such a project - soft, machine-washable and durable. My FO looked a mess fresh off the needles; a good blocking is key.
