Seriously, the girl has been demanding one since August - August! who needs a Santa-hat in August!** - and will not relent. Which means that, despite my ban on knitting for random folk - especially during “Xmas Gift Season” - I had to cast on something.

Composed entirely of old mystery yarn from the stash, possibly acrylic, possibly cotton. I think I cast on 86-stitches. My pom-pom skills are deplorable, but beggers/Meries cannot be choosers.

2021 Update: Holy moly, seven years later and that thing popped up on my IG feed, intact and still somehow wearable. Amazing.
