One of the first things that my (now ex-) boy and I bonded over was our appreciation for one Michael Nesmith, wool-hatted god among Monkees. That said, it was only fitting that I knit him a Nesmith-esque hat for our first Xmas together.

Improvised pattern featuring a wide band of ribbing and a happy little pom-pom on top. He wore the hell out of this thing for two years and I knit him a sequel in December 2007.
