…for the second of two Spring babies-to-be, this one wee Shamus.

Mods to make this one stroller-sized:

• Worsted weight on Size 8 needles.
• Cast on 100 stitches, broken down as follows: Chart #1 over thirteen stitches; Slip-Stitch Block over 22-stitches; purl one; Central Cable over 28-stitches; purl one; Slip-Stitch Block over 22-stitches; and Chart #3 over last thirteen stitches.

HOWEVER: My gauge-math was bad and the end result was a bit narrow. Decided to supplement the width by picking up stitches along the length of the blanket and knitting eighteen rows using the above slip-stitch pattern. If I were to knit this again, I would have added these extra slip-stitch blocks to my cast-on (versus picking up stitches afterwards). In addition, I picked up stitches along the shorter edge and knit three rows in garter - just to tidy things up.

Overall? I’m very, very happy with it. The FO was tossed in the wash and laid flat to dry, which evened out my stitches a bit. (The bottom photo is unblocked.)

This is the the fourth baby blanket that I’ve knit in Cotton-Ease, which is the perfect yarn for such a project - soft, machine-washable and durable.
