Notes

As the pattern name suggests, this was a “simple, yet effective” shawl knit for my grandmother (and modeled by Mom), who was recently admitted to the nursing home. Wash-friendliness was essential, hence my use of the Cotton-Ease, for which - yarn snobbery be damned! - I’ve always harbored a secret appreciation…

Incorporated a few yarn-over rows (k2tog, yo, repeat) as this appears to be a popular variation.

Update: The gift was well-received, as Grandmom immediately wrapped it around her shoulders and wore it until her passing, several months later. It now lives in my office and keeps me warm when the a/c is too high.
