Notes

The pattern for this neck warmer pattern was more or less made up as I went along (I just cast on enough stitches to go loosely around someone’s neck and knitted until it was the right size). I decided to include an open seam with buttonholes in order to offer lots of different ways to wear the cowl. (I have since written up the pattern and made it available for free on Ravelry.)

The yarn is a bulky, super-soft grey mohair which knits up quickly and works very well with ribbing. Having admired the “Quickie Cowl” pattern by f.pea (available on ravelry) I was inspired to include similar yarn-over eyelets in my ribbing. I think they look pretty, but also also add a touch of lightness to the cowl.

I am toying with the idea of a wider, tubular, version of this cowl, perhaps with a single row of eyelets so that a ribbon can be threaded through the middle and gathered around the neck with a bow.
