PLEASE NOTE: my natural knitting gauge is a little on the loose side, so 29 cast on stitches was enough to fit around my wrists and hands, with a good amount of stretch. However I would strongly advise those with a snug or tight gauge to add a few additional stitches when casting on, to get the required diameter, and potentially to knit a few extra stripes.
