Notes

I love Frabjous Fibers yarn…and I absolutely fell in love with Stephanie Shiman’s Sushi Scarf pattern found hereBut rather than a stockinette cowl, I wanted to knit a garter stitch scarf. I found the L’Echarpe de Leon scarf pattern and decided to roll with it (sushi humor) using the Sushi Scarf Kit from Frabjous Fibers.

I used US 7 4.5mm needles and a cast on of 63 stitches. I knit the Nori Wrapper first, followed by the Sticky Rice, Avacado and Cuke and finally, the Spicy Crab. For the striped rows, I knit four rows of garter stitch for each color carrying the alternating color up the side. I knit the final set of stripes for 11 repeats or 22 rows before I began the decreases. As another reference, at the start of the decreases, I had 18 grams of yarn remaining.

I love the finished edges of this pattern. And the garter stitch looks great on both sides even where colors are joined.

The finished scarf is 8 1/4 inches wide by 72 inches long.
