Some bunny is ready for school in her plaid dress! The dress was knit with a cast on of 99 stitches and my usual modifications found here: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/suzymarie/bunny-dress-mod...

To create the plaid, I knit a vertical row of purl stiches in the skirt wherever I planned to add a vertical stripe of color. See photo to the left. After completing the garter stitch hem, I used a pattern of K4, P, K3, P, K, P (repeated 9 times around for the 99 stitch cast on) in various color stripes up to the decreases for the waist. When the dress was finished, I added the vertical stripes by crocheting into each of the purl rows with a 2.5 mm hook.

Play at Life Fiber Arts Jest Sock yarn is beautiful to work with. Th colors I combined remind me of a new box of crayons.

The bunny was knit on 2.75 mm needles with Filatura di Crosa Zara yarn in Latte 1773.
