My friend Carly gave me this yarn as a birthday gift. I’m going to see if I can stretch it out enough for these fingerless mitts.

I couldn’t. Stretch it, that is. So I frogged everything (aaaagh) and am going to try substituting some wool of a similar weight but contrasting colour for the cuff/thumb. It will look funky, but hopefully good?

So I finished this successfully the second time around! I ended up using some darker blue yarn for the cuff and thumb, and now I have spare alpaca yarn left over. I’m pretty happy with how it looks.

The left mitten is a bit tighter in the thumb gore area, but we’ll see how blocking affects that. Handmade: no two things are ever the same!
