This is a variation on the theme of this first tissue box cover attempt using the Rainbows and Daisies Square pattern. The fit is better with this one, but I like the look of the first one better.

For the top square I made a small change. I still started with a chain of 12 stitches joined in the round, but instead of working one DC cluster in each chain I worked the 12 clusters in the center of the loop.

Since going down a hook size to reduce the size of the squares to improve the fit around the tissue box I had to also do something to add to the height of the squares. I considered adding a row of DC to the top and bottom edges of each square before joining them, but opted instead to join the squares (comprised of the first 3 rounds of the pattern) and then add to the bottom of the cover to make up the difference. I made a circle of 2 rounds of 64 DC stitches and then joined that to the squares using the same alternating slip stitch join that I used to join the 4 sides and the top. I finished with a round of SC around the bottom.
