26-12-13: Cast on for 5th size (40.75”), but my gauge is 14.5 stitches to 4 inches, not 15, so I am going to skip the very final Raglan increase row before dividing for sleeves, then cast on 2 st either side of the underarm marker (not 3) so stitch count after sleeves is 148 not 156. Since my row gauge is also a touch out, this won’t cause a problem, I don’t think. (Famous last words?)

28-12-13 (early afternoon): even coming down that size, it’s roomy! Have reached 14” from underarm, but will add some extra rows I think to length.

28-12-13 (evening): worked to 16” from underarm, then cast off. Picked up sleeves using 6mm, but cable faaaaaar too long to manipulate comfortably, so after one round I swapped to 5.5mm DPNs. After a further 14rows, I decreased from 46 to 44 stitches.

29-12-13:Worked a further 6 rounds and then completed 15 repeats of the Slip Stitch edging before casting off the first sleeve. Have completed neck edging and am now on the second sleeve. Can I get it finished tonight?

29-12-13 (11:40pm):Yep!

30-12-13: ok so it still needs blocking and a button but it’s done. I think I’ve discovered that A line cardigans aren’t necessarily flattering on me -if I were to make it again I might put some decreases in instead of some increases, then increase back out over the hip. We’ll see what it looks like after blocking.

12-1-14 it took a week for this to dry (much prefer wet blocking!) but it’s ace. Totally revised my opinion of it. LOVE IT! The button is from my friend gu53bee
