I used the head pattern from Julie Williams elephant pattern then picked up 21 stitches with gray yarn on the bottom of the head for a handle. Increased to 30 stitches and knit in the round for 2 inches. Then I switched to a self striping yarn and knit for 2 1/2 more inches ending with a few decrease rows. I stuffed it and added a little kitty bell then pulled the stitches tight on the bottom to finish.
