I have all my charts if anyone is interested in them!
Ordered this pattern to make Christmas Stockings for all of us! I really don’t like using spring greens mixed with Christmas colors, plus the budget is tight this month, so I’m only using 2 greens. Also, I’m using cream instead of the white & grey.
Note on the yarn: this is actually a rather nice cheapy acrylic yarn. Of course, it squeeks and sticks, but it is softer than Red Heart. Nice economical choice. My kids are still little - I’ll knit them nice high-stitch-count wool stockings for wedding presents ;-)
Another MAJOR alteration. I don’t want this project to take forever! Altering it for only 72. This will fit all charts except the 16st ones. 2 of those will look fine with a half at the back seam, the bow will just have to look weird, since I really want to use that one. Since I’m not centering the monogram, I should just be able to make fewer repeats of everything.
Since I’m using larger needles and thicker yarn, my size is close to the same as the pattern.
Below is my plan for each stocking:

Basic Alteration Notes For Each Stocking:
Cast on 18 on each side (36 total) using Judy’s Magic CO.
Increase every-other row to 36 on each side (72 total)
Work in patterns to heel, work short row heel down to 18 and back up using SSSP & SSSK when picking up (makes perfectly matching decreases!)

First stocking done! In 6 days! And I didn’t even knit on it every day, it was super fast.
I actually recharted the poinsettia section for 72 stitches and no monogram. Added a “Name” section at the top, flanked by the flower. Worked a Latvian Braid instead of Icord, and bound off using sewn BO and tacked down each stitch to the inside to keep braid from rolling. Made a loop out of braided ends, will add tassels later

Started second stocking last night, got through all 3 foot patterns. Turned the heel this morning.
December 3
Finished 2nd stocking!! 6 Days again, and I didn’t knit every day. I could probably do it in 4 consecutive evenings!
