Notes
  • body - 44.5” in circumference
  • 23” sleeve seam to sleeve seam
  • 22.5” from top of back of neck to hem
  • 19” sleeve circumference at top
  • 12.5”from underam to hem
  • JMCO 228sts on 4.5mm needle and one row
  • then convert to a tubular 1x1 cast on, onto 4mm needles
  • 31 more rows 1x1 rib
  • Switch to 4.5mm needles, GSR and worked up body in stockinette (so outside of ribbing became inside)
  • in first row, decreased down to 210sts (106 on back with the 2 purl sts and 104 on front). No specific reason for 2 more on back except that I wanted a stitch count of 210 and the 2 purl sts on the back are likely to draw in a little
  • 53 rows of stockinette in the round and then turned on the back and cast on one stitch at either end (for seaming the sleeves - did cable cast on but next time do a backwards loop.
  • BACK
  • Worked total of 49 rows on the back only
  • if doing again, do 6 more rows before splitting for front and back and 6 less rows on the armholes (overall length same but about 2” less in sleeve circumference)
  • started doing Fully Fashioned Double Decreases 2 sts in from the end a total of 17 times
  • bind off remaining sts on the very next row purlside and P2tog and SSP at ends to bring in a bit more
  • 36 rows is 5” after blocking
  • FRONT
  • CO 1 st at either end and worked X rows of stockinette before starting the neck shaping
  • LEFT FRONT
  • starting the neck shaping
  • K48turn
  • P2tog, P46
  • K45, K2tog
  • P2tog, P44
  • K43, K2tog
  • P43
  • K37, FFDL, K2
  • P across
  • K35, FFDL, K2
  • 3 rows stockinette
  • K33, FFDL, K2
  • 5 rows stockinette
  • K31, FFDL, K2
  • 11 rows stockinette. Bind off
  • Knit across 10 sts and put on holder (next time bind them off)
  • Reverse shaping on the other side matching the left front
  • NECKBAND
  • picked up and purled 92sts on 4mm needles. Wish i had bound off the front 10 sts instead of keeping live. Other than that, very happy with the neckband
  • 1x1 rib inside out for 10 rows, then GSR and worked right side out 3 rows knitting the knits and slipping every purl, then 10 rows 1x1 still right side out and then bound off while picking up sts to attach at the same time
  • body without sleeves weighs 448 grams
  • SLEEVES
  • CO44sts JMCO 4.5mm needle, one round knit, switch to 4mm needle and 1x1 ribbing. Worked total 28 rows 1x1 rib. 5 rows knit then start increases.
  • increase every second round as follows K3, M1R, Knit to last 3 sts, M1L, K3
  • Increased to 94sts
  • If doing again, increase to 86sts (still oversized but a bit less bulk)
  • 62 rows even and bind off
  • One sleeve weighs 128 grams
  • Mattress stitch at a rate of about 4 rows for every 3 bound off stitches
