I’ve tossed around the idea of making my own stocking for a while, as I really love the idea of something unique and heirloom-ish.

I saw this pattern, and looked beyond the fun fur to the idea I had in mind.

Instead of knitting flat, I converted the pattern to be in the round, and I used duplicate stitch to carry the darker brown up the back for the sole.

Finished with a picot hem that I bound off to flip over, and then added a lace border.

Straps are seed stitch, and I added a seed stitch loop to hang it.
