Since I dropped my drinking jar, shattering said jar within my previous cozy, I needed a new cozy sized for my preferred quart Mason jar.
This uses Stonecrop from andreakr and her incredible Knitovation Stitch Dictionary.
Size 1 needles for the bottom (cast on 8, magic circle) then increased every other round at first and every third round later until I had 22 stitches on each of 4 needles.
One round purl, one round knit, then to 2.5 needles and into colourwork.
Did 1 repeat and 20 rows of another, transitioned to solid again, decreased to 18 stitches per needle because by that point I was knitting in bed and didn’t feel like getting out of bed to find my size 1 needles, a few rows of 1/1 ribbing, then 1 row plain, ended with Dolly Quinn’s mock i-cord bindoff.

Since my brain always thinks in layers…I chose Stonecrop and Rainbow yarn deliberately.
My adult son is queer.
I made this during Pride month.
And for nearly two decades now, ever since I first suspected my amazing kiddo would probably bring home a nice son-in-law and not a nice daughter-in-law, I’ve been very aware that there are lots of folks who wish to cast stones at queer people.
Never mind that those folks are usually deliberately mis-reading the Torah I hold sacred.
Never mind that those folks wish to apply death-by-stoning, because of that misreading - that penalty is something we have no record of ever being carried out.
So…y’know, don’t cast stones at my rainbow son.
