25/01/14: Bought 10 balls of Noro Kureyon from Tangled Yarn in 5 colour batches. I’ll arrange them in a rough’ish rainbow at the end. Should give me 40 squares, as the first ball allowed me 4 squares with a tiny bit to spare.

03/03/14: Picked up an extra 6 Noro balls as 10 wouldn’t have been enough for a decent blanket. Also need to get some natural aran yarn for the edging, probably from World of Wool.

23/04/14: Gave this a rest while I did some gift knitting, but cracking on with the white edging (thank you Skeinqueen for the big cone of white aran weight yarn!). Finished about 50% of the squares’ edging.

04/05/14: Finished all white edge on squares. Next I need to decide what order to put the squares in, and start joining them!

28/06/14: All joined in one direction, now joining in the other direction while weaving some ends in. There’ll still be a fair amount of weaving left to do at the end! Problem is, it’s June and it’s too warm to have a big woolen blanket on my lap in the evening - but it’ll be amazing this winter! :D

01/07/14: Finished joining so I just need to weave in ends and decide whether to just do a plain white border or find yarn to do a colourful border. Not sure any single colour could do the rest justice though! Maybe my aran cashmerino in teal, given I’ve already started stealing balls from that sweater-quantity…

16/08/14: July was just too hot to work on a blanket, but I’ve now finished weaving the last ends. Will take photos soon!
