Wow, I seriously love this hat. I cast on in the morning, during a big snowy, cuddle day with a sick child at home, and finished it after the rest of the family went to bed, I was so obsessed with this hat.

Notes: I knit the ribbing on size 5 needle, and the rest of the hat on an 8. The ribbing has indeed stretched, which is fine for a no-hat-head-day at work, though perhaps next time I’d make it even smaller. Or, better yet, I think if I cast on 8 fewer stitches (for 16 fewer stitches in the beret portion) that would take care of the extra roominess in the brim. Other than that, I loved the “regular” size and found it plenty big, and the hat is sooo cozy.

I love it when the everything comes together and a beautiful object is born. Love love love!
