Preparations- I took cautions to pick a yarn without wool, as the last sweater I made (25% wool) has led me to believe I may have wool allergies. The result: nylon/acrylic Berroco Comfort Chunky! So soft, and warm, too, so I’m pretty satisfied with it. I also don’t have size 10.5 so I went to 10 hoping that my loose gauge will make an XS feel like a S even with a smaller needle size. I did knit a gauge swatch to test things out and it seemed to be fine, but I’ll still have to see…

7/13/2014- Finished back without major troubles. I really like it :) It did take longer than I expected, though. My knitting time was solely during World Cup games and sitting in the backseat during two trips to and from LA. Now onto left front!

7/25/2014- Finished front right, and onto left. I’m sure glad the pattern can be easily memorized--makes the awkwardly written pattern less burdensome.

8/3/2014- Finished front left.

8/6/2014- Finished first sleeve. It’s an excellent project for the backseat rider at national parks :)

8/12/2014- Finished second sleeve and weaving all the yarn ends.

8/13/2014- Completed all of the sewing! Fits well (phew) in spite of changes of needles and small size knitted (I am normally a S or M). Sleeves could be shorter but that’s why cuffs exist. Fits Mom better lol because she has a longer torso. Garment is heavier than I expected. Very warm.
