12/27/2014- On the road down to LA and I finished the body up to the yolk.

12/28/2014- Finished first sleeve.

12/29/2014- Finished second sleeve.

12/31/2014- Finished yolk fair isle but don’t quite have enough yarn to finish it all. Arrgh.

1/1/2015- Bought extra skein and finished knitting and weaving yarn ends.

1/6/2015- Finished blocking. Also finished sewing and inserting zipper (the most scared I have ever been during a knitting project ever). Zipper puckers a little, the yolk is about 1 cm offset, and the ends to the zipper don’t look great but it works! I’m not gonna do that zipper over again if one thing’s certain…

Knitting was very fast and easy (completed in 4 days). Learning how to graft was useful.

I had a lot of trouble with the zipper. Cutting through the sweater is scary and I am not fully satisfied with how the purl stitches are salvaged after the cutting. Also the zipper displaced the yoke pattern about a centimeter. Blocking took forever to dry and then the sleeves got too long. Body could also be longer.

Mods:

I ribbed the sleeve cuffs. I did not knit the collar to fold over itself.
