Notes

29/3/15 - I’ve been wearing this for three days now! I’m thinking I may have gone overkill with the ease but it’s good for going out walking on the cliffs. The wide open neck is great for not overheating - my Troon Tweed ‘Wisteria’ is a bit of a nightmare with even the slightest exertion. I’d been concerned the Lopi might be too warm already but this Lett-lopi really is a lovely thickness and the stranded yoke gives you warmth where you want it and a pleasantly breathable fabric in the stocking stitch sections.

26/3/15 - It’s still not dry :-( !!!
Two layers of stranded knitting is more like 4x normal thickness. I want to wear it NOW!

A note on mods (so I don’t forget): I worked over two sizes and ‘lengthened’ the waist decreases (so it didn’t come in so sharply) by redistributing the rounds from the straight waist section. I then only had to do one or two bust increases to get up to the size 9 yoke size so it’s nearly an a-line shape really. The sleeves are the same over size 9 and 10 but I think I may have added a little length here (I was testing them on my arm rather than to the pattern). The wrists are quite tight - if I made this again I would add a repeat to the cuff to get the same ease as I have further up the arm.

25/3/15 - Blocking… So excited! I didn’t measure or pin at all like I usually would. I just focused on trying to match the stranded fabric and the plain fabric. And then I couldn’t stop fussing with it. It’s so fuzzy!
LOVE the lopi!

24/3/15 - I’ve been rubbish at updating things on here but I couldn’t resist getting a fuzzy photo in bad light uploaded after weaving in the last of my yoke ends.

I just need to teach myself grafting for the armpits and it’s done!

I think I buggered up the tension on the plain body. Should have gone back down a needle size. But maybe it will block out flat. This may be the reason I ran over the stated yarn allowance. I was glad I got the extra ball of the main colour. With the blue though I’ve still got two untouched balls.

I swatched on 4.5mm (20sts/22rounds) and 4mm (22sts/24sts) circular needles. Good to go…

FINALLY! My yarn has been arriving ball by ball for this project. I guess there are a few of us in the UK after Light Ash, Ocean Blue and Glacier Blue. Just got the last dispatch email today…

I spent ages trying to choose colours for this project. I don’t think the orange and yellow is right for me. But I just loved Kate’s selection of these colours fading into each other. So I have simply switched the complementary orange for the lovely ‘Spring Green’. Natural zing!
