I am a loose knitter. If a pattern calls for US 8 I always go down 2 needle sizes. So in this case and with the yarn I’m using I knitted the first part of the pattern as directed. I didn’t add any additional loops or stitches

Also I picked up the stitches front to back as the back to front was way too tight on my Addi turbo needles.

Ran out of main color - the burgundy. Had to buy another skein
