Inspired by the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie and everyone’s new favorite astromech droid, I designed my own version of a BB-8 toque! The free pattern is linked here on Ravelry if you want to make one of your very own.

Uses about half a skein of I Love This Yarn! in white, and small amounts of orange, grey, and black. Fairly simple pattern with most color changes happening at the end of a round (tutorial, explanation, and video links provided) and one row where you carry two colors along to alternate between orange and white, with a tutorial and explanation included on how to change mid-row and carry the yarn.

Requires basic stitches (US terms) and also front post/back post half double crochet stitches for the ribbing.

Default size makes a toque that will fit 20” - 23” circumference, and there are instructions included to help you make a smaller or larger toque to fit your needs.
