This lovely yarn was a thank you gift from Louise Tilbrook for hosting a sock-along on the NH Knits podcast featuring her sock patterns. She heard me lusting after some of this sock yarn and promptly sent me a skein.

(I tend to increase # of stitches and go down to US0 to get a more dense fabric. I started knitting this per Hermoine’s sock pattern with 62 and US1 and they were really loose and wider than what I ended up after mods.)

I modified the Hermoine’s Everyday sock pattern as follows:
c/o 72 st for cuff
US 0
k2, p2 for ribbing 1.5”
straight stockingnette for 5.5” total from start of knitting then followed heel instructions (used yarn I’d balled up from start of skein for just the heel). heel mods include 36 st and s1, k19 to start heel turn. Picked up same # of stitches as pattern. followed gusset decreases until 72st remaining.
foot: stockinette for approx 4”
