Notes

The sock is too long, by about half an inch on me. It also feels baggy around the ball of my foot, but the leg fit is great.

If I give these away I might make it again for myself, but work further decreases on the foot portion, and stop sooner for the toe.

Idea: Continue gusset decreases down to 64 stitches around. Possibly by working every other until the sole is 32 stitches and then working every other on instep to reduce it to 32 as well. Or, once the foot is 72 stitches working decreases on both instep and sole every other row after completing the second block (after finishing the 24th row of the instep)
Could rotate before starting heel flap to place the start/stop in the mid point of blocks, work instep with only 3 blocks across the stop and stockinette to either side.

Edited to add:
The tea and knitting photo won me a prize from SM9, so I’ve attached photos of the Alegria yarn that I received. It is so lovely, I can’t wait to use it.

I tried these on again today and thought about the fit. I asked my husband to try them on and they are just a tiny smidge too small for him, which means they will likely fit my dad perfectly. Congrats Dad, you get an extra pair of new socks this year!
