Notes

I’m guessing I used about half a skein. I did not weigh the yarn before and after, so it’s just an estimate.

I modified the children’s size because it seemed like the pattern as written would be too large for my toddler. I knit 31 rows then started the thumb gusset (that’s only 4 rows short of the pattern) and then I did about 30 after.

I used one long circular, and knit both mitts at the same time so I wasn’t too picky on keeping track of my row count after the thumb, I just did it until it met the other edge when folded.

Instead of knitting a row with the tail, I just knit into the cast on edge directly for the three needle bind off.

If I had to guess I would say that the whole project took me about 4 hours, including weaving in ends.

After a nice soak and drying over night, we have success! The mitts fit, and I’m betting that the garter stitch means they’ll keep fitting for at least another year, if not more.

I like this yarn a lot, but not the color I bought it in. :)
