Team Sockeroo

I really should have used smaller needles for this sock, and knit the larger size, but then I’d almost surely be out of the competition this round. Instead my gauge is a little looser than I’d like and the socks are still quite tight on my leg. Trials and tribulations of using new to me sock yarns.

The pattern is enchanting, although the ship requires line by line attention, so it was challenging when I had to set it down multiple times to deal with real life.

The yarn on the other hand I find has very little bounce, and is a little thin and quite splitty. I guess I got what I paid for though, and they will be lovely socks regardless.

Regarding the needles I listed:
I used 2.5mm for the cast on and leg, changed to 2.75mm for the waves, then back to 2.5mm for the heel flap. I did the turn and a bit under the heel with 2.25mm to get a nice solid fabric to try and prevent some wear and tear. The instep and the rest of the foot and toe I finished with 2.5mm.
