The original Greenway is listed to be 45” x 60”
I’m hoping that my Pinkway will be closer to 36” x 45”

First step is to do a gauge swatch so I can determine how long my initial chain should be. Gauge swatch looks pretty good, so now to cast on. My swatch was 25 chains and came out 4.5” wide, so I’m going to try a chain of 185 in the hopes that it will be around 33-34”.

For anyone else looking to substitute yarns I’ll tell you my measurements so far:
Chain of 185 sts was 44 inches wide
After completing the setup row it was 37 inches
After completing the first 2 pattern rows it was 34 1/2 inches
That should give you an idea of how much the pattern pulls in, don’t just make a chain the width you want to end up with. As always though testing your own gauge swatch will give you a better idea.

I ran out of the gray (Whisker) on my last row, about 12 inches from the end. I dug out some old Knit Picks Shine Worsted in Robot. The colors aren’t the same, and if you look you can see it, but it is close enough I think.

After washing the blanket is 29 inches x 45 inches. It is a bit narrower than I wanted, but I used almost all of my yarn, and it will be an adequate lap blanket. It would be a lovely baby blanket were the baby in question not already 10 years old. :)

I did two rows of single crochet as a boarder, in the Ivory color.
