Tip/Trick

The pattern calls for sewing up the small hole created as you i-cord bind off across the live edges of the triangles. There is a point where the two triangles meet that the edges are tall, and it’s a fairly large gap, but I hated the idea of sewing it shut later.

Instead: one stitch before the gap as you SSK that last stitch, grab a stitch from the gap and slip it as well. Knit 3 together instead of two. On the next i-cord stitch, instead of SSK with the next stitch on the needle, slip 1 and then grab a stitch, or bar from just right of center, and knit it together. The next SSK will incorporate a stitch or bar from just left of center. The final closing stitch (for me) was to pick up and slip a stitch from the gap, then slip the stitch from the left needle and do a final knit 3 together (SSK but SSSK). If your gap is larger you may want to pick up an additional one or two stitches, but this continued my edging nicely, and there is no hole to stitch up later.
